A division bench of the SHC issued the orders after NAB prosecutor told the court that reference has been sent to NAB headquarter again after legal wing raised some objections to it. The prosecutor informed the bench the investigations against Lanjar have been completed for embezzlement of public funds and misuse of powers.
He informed that NAB has also got the clue about a banglow in DHA area of Karachi. The prosecutor said that Lanjar transferred the public funds in his accounts through his front man. Former Law minister embezzled the public funds, which were allocated for Nawabshah Medical College and other projects. Around Rs 170 million of public funds for various projects and Rs 130 million for medical college were allegedly transferred in Lanjar accounts.
The court ordered NAB to furnish the report by filing the reference before it extended the interim bail of the accused. Meanwhile, the SHC summoned Chief Secretary Sindh and Director General Malir Development Authority (MDA) in a case pertaining to ban on entry of heavy vehicle in the city.
The MDA attorney told the court 100 acres of land has already been handed over to the MDA for bus terminal when the court ordered the transfer of the land to MDA for the purpose. The court put off the hearing of the case for September 17, 2019.
